Maharishi Vastu schools under construction in Mexico

Just a few weeks ago, construction began on two, 2-story school buildings in Monterrey. They will be yogic flying halls for 900 students and will be built using both traditional stick frame construction as well as the Sand Bag-system.

Those working on the project have already noticed that the buildings are already developing a strong sense of the power of Maharishi Vastu; they feel the strength of silence even in the midst of the construction activity .

We hope to have more details for our next issue as well as pictures of the construction. Below is a render of the building.

Vedic Green home included in Green Home Tour in New York

In early October, the Maharishi Vastu home of Joel and Laura Wysong both Vastu Coordinators, was included in a very successful “Green Home Tour” sponsored by Cornell University. Their house was one of 30 featured in this year’s Green Building Tour organized by their county extension office in conjunction with the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA) and the Ithaca Green Building Alliance.

New Video Websites

They had 120-150 visitors come to the house and are having a follow-up lecture focusing on Maharishi Vastu architecture this weekend. This home is also a unique model for green and sustainable living as it features mostly local materials, is super-insulated and tightly sealed with only non-toxic materials and gives special attention to air and heat flow using a centrally located soapstone stove as the heat source and transom windows and atrium skylights to create proper air movement and heat distribution.

Many remarks from the visitors mentioned special features that characterize a Vastu home. There were many appreciative comments about the abundant daylight, open floor plan and the spacious feeling. “It feels much bigger than 1500 square feet!” was a frequent comment. Also the lightness and brightness of the walls and knotty-pine trim and ceiling and the spaciousness of the Atrium, the open transom windows that allow both air and light to penetrate the space, these were all noticed by visitors.

There were also many questions about the natural materials such as the bamboo floor, Marmoleum counters and dining table and the wood exterior. . Even the Vastu fence got a comment; “The fence surrounding the house fits so well with this house”.

Many people said they had seen the house under construction and were watching its progress. “I knew this house was very special right from the beginning.”

One young boy looked around the house with his mom, then seated himself in a comfortable chair on the southwest screened porch in the afternoon sunshine and declared, “I want to live in this house. This will be my room,!”

Laura reports, “A young builder who has built his own green home and is an active member of the Ithaca Green Building Alliance spent a long time in the house. He watched both slide shows (our videos on orientation and placement) several times, then wandered around, studying things. When questioned, he said, “I LIKE this house!”

General comments included;

“Your home is so peaceful and harmonious.”

“I really enjoyed being in your heavenly home.”

People were clearly enjoying and wanted to linger.

This house feels so good to live in.

Expanding our terms and updating our website

By now, everyone has noted we have used the term “Maharishi Vastu” throughout this enews and that www.MaharishiVastu.org has become the new URL of our website. On the strong advice of our movement marketing experts, our International board has made the decision to promote that term exclusively. It is by far the most recognized term on the internet for our services and the knowledge we represent.

We also know from years of experience that Maharishi Vastu is the easiest term to pronounce and spell for anyone unfamiliar with this knowledge. (Some of us still cannot spell “Sthapatya”!) It will be very helpful for those who represent us to have one term and not confuse people by using a variety of terms to represent our knowledge. We will still be using the description of Fortune-Creating for homes and buildings as this is a term Maharishi conceived.

And, if you have not yet visited our updated website please take a look. www.MaharishiVastu.org or our new video site, www.VastuTV.com

There is now a Blog page to showcase the experience of Vastu living and we have rearranged some of our main tabs to make them more understandable and accessible. This also allows certain topics to be more accessible to search engines.

The Videos page is now fully functional and there are many wonderful topics to view.

The How to Get Started page, now under Services & Designs, has been re-designed to be comprehensive, simple and include all countries.

Our next assignment will be creating a free, online introductory course for Maharishi Vastu that we will promote through our website.

Lastly, we have several dedicated people working to translate this website into several major languages and then there will be portals for each of those from our homepage.
