21 new Vastu architects complete training
Earlier this summer twenty-one architects from thirteen countries graduated from an intensive, two month training program as fully certified Maharishi Vastu architects. You can see their country affiliations, contact information and pictures on our facebook page (www.facebook.com/MaharishiVastu) where they are featured according to their region of the world.
They bring the supreme knowledge of design and building in perfect harmony with natural law to many new parts of the globe. Vastu Modular construction
taking hold in Fairfield, IA
In the past few months we have featured the modular construction methods on a house being built in Fairfield, Iowa in the Abundance Eco Village community.
This home was inaugurated on July 9th after being delivered from the factory and set on its foundation on May 12th.
The owners report the home is exceeding their expectations in all ways — comfort, quality, beauty and the wonderful feeling of living in Vastu. More photos of the finished interior can be found on the facebook album link above.
Another home has just been delivered and set on its foundation. It offers a contrast to the first in style and finishes although similar in size.
This latest Vastu modular is modern in style, with verandahs and screened porches on front and rear. The open, central living area has clerestory windows just below its high ceilings to allow light to flood in from above; a feature recommended for all Vastu buildings. The completed home is from our portfolio of pre-design plans and the new home is a custom design that will be added to the portfolio. A recent render of the west side of the new home:
A third Fairfield modular Vastu home is close to production and a fourth is now being designed.
Also, a village of small, modular homes of various sizes is now being planned for Fairfield. This “micro-village” will have both homes and multi-unit buildings. All units so far are in the 400-800 sf (37-48 sq.m) range and studio, one bedroom and two bedroom configurations are planned.
Options give flexibility in design, additional space or even a second story. Some of the amenities include common gardens and park space as well as vegetable production, energy efficiency with thick wall construction, solar panels, rain gardens and a possible retail/common space. The site that is being planned has the 16-mile Fairfield bike/walking trail running directly in front of it.
Living in a community of Maharishi Vastu homes brings a stronger effect of positivity, protection, coherence and happiness to all who live there. This experience has been reported over and over in Vastu communities around the globe. The intention of the planners of this micro-village is to offer these homes and apartments for rent or sale to singles and couples, young families and retirees at the lowest possible price.
New fence and kalash designs now available for Maharishi Vastu buildings
Our very productive and creative Vastu architect Christian Schweizer has designed a new roof ornament to be available for smaller Vastu buildings or buildings that have special requirements. This style of roof ornament is traditionally called a stupik, is approximately 18 inches (.5 meters) high and hand made of ceramic.
The stupiks are by a German company that has been manufacturing ornaments for roof tile companies for many, many years. This fired clay material combines beauty, strength and longevity and can be shipped all over the world.
Christian has also designed Vastu fence panels that are made of cast concrete and can be colored to suit. These panels have several advantages over traditional wood or metal fences. They are very solid yet beautiful in appearance, quite maintenance-free and cost-effective. The first two qualities make them ideal as a Vastu fence material and the last two make them attractive to anyone keeping track of their construction budget. There are currently three mold designs and each mold is strong enough to cast over 10,000 panels.
