Vastu Shield Triumphs Again

Two well-timed wind shifts diverted a wall of flames around a community of Maharishi Vastu homes in Fairfield Iowa, leaving all of the houses safe and undamaged.

On March 16 a trash fire 300 meters (1,000 feet) southwest of the North Campus Village community got out of control and ignited a nearby tall-grass field. The fire spread quickly, engulfing 24 hectares (60 acres) and headed straight towards the Vastu community. The first firefighters arrived on the scene just before the fire reached the nearest row of homes and immediately began to attempt to contain the fire. Ultimately, more than 60 firefighters, police, and sheriff’s deputies arrived to help.

Though they fought energetically and with some success, the fire reached the very edge of one Vastu fence, and more would follow. Suddenly, the wind shifted its direction, diverting the row of flames away from the Vastu village. After the flames bypassed the village the wind shifted back to its original direction, but enough time had passed that the village was no longer in the path of the flames, and all the houses were undamaged.

The city’s fire chief confirmed that the shift in the wind helped the firefighters and protected the homes from potential damage.

From a homeowner in the community who witnessed the fire:

“We live in the northeast area … from our upstairs windows we saw huge billows of smoke to our west. Because of the high winds on that warm day, flames shot up, traveled quickly across the field to our west, and approached the first line of homes on Pearl Lane. In just a few minutes, the fire was within a few dozen yards of some of the homes.

“Firefighters were doing their best to control the flames. As a few of us watched from the street, ready to jump in our cars to drive away from the fire if necessary, we realized that something remarkable and wonderful had just happened.

“The wind shifted. A huge gift from Mother Nature! Instead of blowing from the west/southwest, the wind suddenly started to blow from the south, causing the flames to turn away from the line of homes along Pearl Lane and move north toward a large, open field.

“Our home is at the northern edge of the village. Once the line of fire had traveled just beyond the northern edge of the property, the wind shifted back and started to blow again from the west/southwest.

“At that point, though, all homes had been spared. And fortunately, in the large open field to the north, the firefighters were able to contain the fire.

“We’re so grateful to the firefighters, police, and everyone who helped protect the village. And to Mother Nature and the power of Vastu - our gratitude is beyond words.”

Above: A rough outline of the fire and events. The dark areas inside the red lines were burned - the arrows show the direction of the fire and wind, those in bold yellow show where the wind diverted the fire. Note how the fire skirted around the village.

The combination of firefighters, the shift of wind at a critical moment, and a narrow buffer zone of short lawn grass between the homes and the tall grass field, transformed a potentially tragic situation into an exciting but harmless event.

In past e-news articles we have featured several accounts of Maharishi Vastu homes and communities being spared from natural disaster (including fires and hurricanes), and here we see the Vastu Shield Effect demonstrated on the largest Vastu community to date.

If you have not read our earlier accounts of this effect in other locations around the world, you can do so at the following links:

The Vastu Shield Effect occurs when maximum coherence is achieved. The layout of the individual Vastu homes and the community itself adhere to the principles of Maharishi Vastu design, which in turn creates invincibility for maximum protection from danger. When the laws of nature are nourished, all kinds of unanticipated support can arise. We don’t anticipate these types of events in our daily lives, but having the protection afforded by Vastu living is the best way to insure they do not harm our family or ourselves.

In this case, not only was the community supported by the timely shift of the wind, but it was also aided by the timely arrival and effective efforts of several fire departments. Their extremely rapid response may indicate how a Maharishi Vastu community can increase collective consciousness in a locale.

A picture taken from an elevated vantage point shows the path and extent of the fire. The green area is the burn path (which has already re-sprouted due to mild weather and rain) while the brown area on the left shows the unburned field. The homes in the upper right are North Campus Village.
