The Launch of VedicCityPlanning.com

Now, based on the rising tide of interest in Vedic Garden cities and towns from all over the globe, we have just launched a new website to inform and inspire more governments and private developers to consider Maharishi Vastu architecture as the best way to plan for the future of our planet and the people who inhabit it.

Our Cities have to go beyond just economical, ecological and environmental balance. Balance on these levels alone will not be able to guarantee a totally life-nourishing, supportive environment for its inhabitants

What we are searching for is a city that has no crime, no poverty, where we create health, and don’t create misfortune and raise the educational outcome. Also, is it possible that our city of the future could make us more creative, more successful? Could it bring us good fortune, make our thinking unrestricted, and maybe even enhance spiritual fulfillment? Can we harness Nature’s Intelligence within the build environment? Is it possible and do we want it?

By aligning with nature’s intelligence and order, cities planned and built according to Maharishi Vedic architecture and city planning not only create an influence of protection from inner and outer stress and crime as well as being less likely to be hit by natural disasters. They create a lasting and total influence of harmony, order, creativity, better health and good fortune for their inhabitants.

Vedic Green and Sustainable design

Maharishi Vedic architecture and sustainable building design enjoy a very intimate relationship and a shared central aspiration — to build in harmony with Natural Law. Vedic or Vastu architecture is 100% Natural Law-based architecture.

While there is much that is valuable and important in the sustainable architecture movement, it needs an additional approach to help it to fulfill its goal of designing a building in complete harmony with Natural Law.

That approach is Maharishi Vedic architecture and city planning. This ancient, fully developed system, recently revived to its purity and completeness by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, is based on a complete connection to Natural Law. Both systems are extremely supportive of each other.

Reconstruction of existing cities

We are all familiar with older city and town centers, (be they congested or vacant), that would benefit from and be revitalized by re-structuring, modernization and opening up to more green space. At the same time more and more satellite towns on the outskirts of cities desire to implement green and sustainable technologies and become self-sufficient and vital on their own while maintaining a compatible relationship with the inner city area.

Maharishi Vedic City Planning has a fully developed concept that will take this trend to its fulfillment. an existing city or town can, in a systematic and practical manner, be reconstructed in stages. The revitalized ideal Garden City will be anciently designed and modernly equipped to bring greatest benefit to its inhabitants as well as the environment. The satellite suburbs will grow in self-sufficiency and maintain their healthy environment and at the same time support the inner city/town area.

By now, most of our readers are familiar with the basic principles that are applied to the design and construction of a Maharishi Vastu home. These same principles are applied on a macroscopic level to a city or town designed according to Maharishi Vedic City planning.

Innovative Maharishi Vastu School

The Institute of Vedic Architecture has developed a new school building design for innovative education.

Understanding that one of the objectives of education is to promote creativity and innovation then it follows that the building itself has to be innovative.

The architectural proposal was composed of three aspects: sustainability, innovation and Maharishi Vastu principles. The document was also accompanied by a presentation on Maharishi’s Consciousness-based^® Education.

The floor plan is based on three zones: one for teaching classes, another for exhibitions and a final area for the direct experience of the development of consciousness through the group practice of the Transcendental Meditation^® technique.

A mini planetarium and a sky observatory on the roof, as well as an exhibition area displaying examples of Nature’s intelligence and creativity, are some other features of the design.

Naturally all the Maharishi Vastu principles of proper orientation and room placement are included to ensure frictionless flow of knowledge from teacher to student and to promote optimum brain functioning of student and teacher.

Unique aspects of architectural design and interior decoration are utilized to create a happy, inspiring school environment and to support full development of the student’s creativity and innovative thinking.

The proposal has been developed for a specific project and is now also available for use in other locations.
