In this video, British architect Jonathon Phillips reports on the MERU Master Builder System as it has just been implemented in the city of Erfurt in Germany. This is the construction site of a Maharishi Vastu building that will serve as the local Center for Transcendental Meditation® and related programs.

The pre-cast, all natural, self-insulating, liapor (popped clay) outside wall elements are erected in an astonishing 15 minutes per panel. The system has been developed by Maharishi Vastu architect Christian Schweizer at MERU headquarters in The Netherlands and is known as the MERU Master Builder System. A similar system is in the final stages of testing in the US. One of the great benefits of this system of complete exterior panels is the ability to incorporate all the traditional Vedic elements of ornamentation directly into the panel as it is being poured. Pilasters, arches, entablature, plinth and ornaments are part of the mold and therefore cast directly into each wall panel. This is an efficient, economical and lasting method of achieving an auspicious appearance right from the beginning of construction.
