Maharishi Vastu campus incorporates cutting-edge sustainable features

Above and below are recent images of a construction site in the mountains of west Virginia, USA where a private campus/Retreat center is being constructed with modular technology as well as the Maharishi Vastu principles.

These buildings are the first constructions in North America to use the principles of both Maharishi Vastu® architecture and passive house design. Their many environmentally sensitive features include constant fresh air supply; no VOC paint; solid wood furniture; wool carpet; and 70-80% energy savings from airtight construction, triple-glazed krypton-filled windows, and 14-inch thick cellulose insulation.

Their construction cost is a remarkably low $70/sq. ft., and their green building features will ensure the long-term sustainability for the owners as well as the environment by reducing overhead, maintenance, and energy costs to a very economical and manageable level. Combining these features with the natural law-based design and construction techniques of Maharishi Vastu architecture bring completely nourishing effects to the occupants.

These buildings also demonstrate that even with modular construction, it is possible to achieve the full glory of Vedic ornamentation and its enlivening qualities.
