Maharishi Vastu vs. Passive house principles

A lady named Elizabeth has recently posted a comment on our blog page and I hope she is checking back to find an answer.

This is an excellent question and one that is actually addressed in a more general way in the section on this website under the tab " FIND OUT MORE" and then "Sustainability"where the system of vedic architecture is explained in light of the current principles of sustainable, green design and construction.

also, the examples in the left border of that page demonstrate how  the critical principle of eastern orientation of a building to the rising sun does not have to conflict in any way with the principle of gaining maximum solar energy by intelligently using  the south face of the building.  Be sure and click on the link to the Sustainable Living Center..the almost completed Maharishi Vastu classroom and laboratory  on the campus of Maharishi University of Management, IA. to visualize how this works.

there are also numerous examples on the website and elsewhere of the abundant use of solar energy in Maharishi Vastu homes and buildings. I see no conflict at all.

As to Passive House principles, we suggest you refer to one of our enews articles about a multi unit example in the USA of a Maharishi Vastu building that incorporates Passive house principles. We featured its construction phase in a blog on Nov 14, 2010.  I have just made a new photo album on fb- http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.292256724169156.69496.113127852082045&type=1 with more recent photos of the completed and occupied buildings.  There is no central heating or cooling installed in these buildings as it utilizes the Passive house principles of thick wall construction and super insulated windows and doors.  hope you enjoy it and Elizabeth, if you want to contact us further you can use the "contact us" form on this website.  It will come directly to us and we can reply to you more efficiently!
