Poland embraces Vedic City Planning

On 28 February, under the auspices of the Architect’s Association of Poland, the Warsaw Architects Club hosted a conference on Maharishi Vastu. Presenter was Deputy Minister of Vedic Architecture, Wojtek Skalski.

This particular club focuses on the concept of genius loci - spirit or atmosphere of a place in the context of architecture and garden cities. The conference was introduced by Mr. Jeremi Krolikowski, architect, professor of landscape design and leader of the conference.

Mr. Skalski’s talk centered on three themes:

1)    Why it is imperative for every architect and city planner to have the regular experience of the source of natural law in his own consciousness if he expects to achieve real harmony with nature in his work and private life.

2)    Why Maharishi Vastu design and construction is so much more than “green” architecture.

3)    Why Vedic Garden cities and towns are the only answer to the growing problems of community living.

The response to this talk demonstrates the keen interest in ecology and green architecture amongst Polish architects and city planners. The participants also enjoyed seeing examples of Maharishi Vastu homes and communities around the world.

The conference  prompted an interview from Polish National Radio Channel 4 in which Mr. Skalski presented the main principles of Vastu and its effects on individuals and communities.

We look forward to many more presentations of this kind as the architect and city planning communities begin to focus on real solutions to the problems being faced in every country today.

If you know anyone in these professions in your city or country, please suggest to them they might want to host a talk on this topic.  We can guarantee a great interest and a lively discussion. Feel free to contact us if you have an interested group.
